In August 2017, I jumped at the chance to go on this tour to Tonga and swim with humpback whales.  Katie was an excellent guide and yoga teacher, and I shared the tour with seven other wonderful people aged from 27 to 75. Serenity Island blew me away with its absolute beauty. I had a secluded beach Fale, with uninterrupted views of the beach and a gorgeous outdoor bathroom. The food was lovely and fresh, and cooked to your liking.

Swimming with the whales was an unforgettable experience. There were curious whales everywhere! We had wonderful local guides to make sure everyone had an excellent time. Katie has a wonderful and calming influence, and assisted if there were any hesitations about jumping into the deep blue ocean. We swam with many a mother and calf and also with two very curious and playful young males. We swam with the magnificent and gentle whales every other day during our stay.

Katie conducted yoga classes each morning and afternoon. The classes were very relaxing and catered for all experience levels. Personally, I never went to morning yoga as I preferred to sleep in and that was totally fine with Katie. Katie is very relaxed and only wants the best for you, if you want to do yoga every class that’s fine. If you only want to do a few classes she’s fine with that as well it’s up to you.

Katie is a terrific guide as she used to live in Tonga so she has a lot of information about the country and its culture.  I had an absolute ball on this trip and I thoroughly recommend it to anyone considering it.  Namaste xxx
